Eating for Beauty + Wellness Series: Yin Nourishing Chocolate Tahini + Goji Berry Cookies (gluten-free + vegan + free of refined sugar)

Chinese medicine has a strong emphasis on using food as medicine and utilizing nature's resources as healing agents for the body. Today the focus is on nourishing the yin aspects of the body. Yin in nature is feminine, containing, dark, passive, interior, substance, contraction, and in the body includes the blood, body fluids and tissues. Yin is moisturizing and has an effect on the quality and radiance of hair, skin, and nails. Nourishing yin has the benefit of preventing and treating: premature aging, low back pain, dizziness, floaters in the eyes, dry cough, dry skin, dry eyes, constipation and dry stools, hot flashes, insomnia, night sweats, and memory loss.
